Maine is a far east as you can get before leaving the USA and going into Canada. It is a different way of life. Things move slower, folks talk differently, life just seems to be better. I'm not saying life is easy because the jobs in that part of the country are hard labor jobs that make you strong.
We meet a man named Dennis. We stopped so I could get a few shots of his lobster traps. They were all different colors with the same colored markers to tell everyone whose traps they are. They were lined up in his driveway and I was standing off at the end trying not to just walk on up. He had two dogs which let him know I was there right away. He came out and I introduced myself as a tourist from Indiana. He acted like he gets that kinda thing all the time and was a good sport about it.
Maine is also so pretty. For those who don't know me very well I love the ocean. I need to be near the water. The water up there is even different. Cold, gray and still. Not all warm and friendly like in the south. The city Ricky was in is called Machias which means "Bad Little Falls". I also was taken to a town called Lubec. It is home to the Quoddy Head lighthouse which sits at the most eastern point in the USA.
Bo took us to a few places near his town, too. We took lots of pics at one of the places. Forgive me I have forgotten the name. Ask Bo
All day long people have asked me how my trip went. All kinds of memories and images come to mind and I just smiled and said it was amazing.
