the cool thing about starting this club, is i can make the rules up as i go lolĀ  just kidding, for the most part i will continue to ask for nominations, and go by the most votes,etc......but this time i am selecting a player, in honor of one of our best fans, the player is john cappeletti, the fan is colts12thmanbill, bill does so much for the site, and the fans on here, and is always trying to make this the best fan site possible, i personally have received many colts items from bill, and very much appreciate everything, and everything he does on here, and to me he is what being a colts fan, and a member of this great site, is all about, thanks bill, and since we are both bigtime penn state fans also, i am very proud of this selection. cappelletti was one the best rb's in college football history, in 1973, he lead penn state to an undefeated season, and won the heisman trophy. coach paterno has said cappelletti was the best football player he ever coached. and he was elected to the college hall of fame in 1993. he went on to play 5 seasons with the l.a. rams (74-78), and 4 seasons with the s.d. chargers (80-83), his best year was 1976, when he finished with 688 yards rushing. what he is most remembered for is at the heisman trophy presentation, he dedicated the trophy to his younger brother joey, who had luekemia, it inspired one of the best movies i have ever seen, something for joey, if you have never seen this movie, i recommend you watch it, its an awesome movie. his brother died several years later.

good choice- and LOVED your album with cards from some of the all-time greats-- when the kids were young they would have a panic attack when they heard thunder ( years of hearing bombs and gunshots go off while living in Israel)- to calm them down, every time we'd hear thunder I'd tell the kids- "they're playing football in heaven" given all the greats that have and will pass on- that's going to be one helluva game

You all are too nice!!! The movie isn't an easy one to find. Sometimes they show it on cable, I think it's the lifetime network, or one of those that stow movies that are true stories about people facing adversity. John does a lot to raise money for Leukemia research. This is his website: http://www.johncappelletti73heisman.com/home.asp You can purchase the DVD there.
