i have only been to 1 nfl game, and it wasnt in indy, and i am sure its better there than at most stadiums. the nfl is cracking down on unacceptable behavior, with the emphasis on 1. intoxication 2. unruly, disruptive, or illegal behavior 3. foul or abusive language, or obscene gestures 4. interference of the game (throwing things on the field) 5. verbal or physical harrasment of the opposing teams fans. one team, the dolphins, have even set it up, so you can call or text security from your seat. i have heard many stories of some very unruly fans, and i am glad to see the commissioner is cracking down on it. the results can range from denied entrance to the stadium, ejection from the stadium, and stripping of season tickets. i am curious also, seeing how great the local fans are on this site, and i know a lot of you have been to some, if not many colts games, how would you rate the fans, i know there are always going to be a few , that ruin it for everyone else,  the booing of brandon stockley comes to mind.  are they for the most part, respectfull? i would have to think they are, but would like to hear your thoughts.                                                                                       the answers for the surveys are: dickerson was the 2nd overall pick in the 1st round in 1983 by the rams, he was born in texas, and played college at s.m.u.......................... faulk was also the 2nd overall pick in the first round in 1994 by the colts, he was born in louisianna, and played college at san diego state. hope you all are having a great week, this is for you daddyj.................LETS GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I went to the Colts/Ravens game last year in Baltimore, I heard a lot of foul language directed towards me by the Ravens fans and some people that told me to "go home" (little did they know that I was already home, haha), and someone tried throwing a beer at me in my seat but luckily they missed!

When married to my first wife, we were in a situation like Jeffro at Three Rivers Stadium in 95 against the Steelers. We were a little blue dot in a sea of black, rude and unruly fans. Fowl language, beer thrown at us, physical threats all game against us (my daughter was only 9 years old). Was the first and LAST away game I ever went to. The rule is long overdue in my opinion and will have more bark than bite (enforcement)....:(

I have to say that I have never seen any unruly people at any Colts games, even if the people around me were for the other team. The "booing" of Stokley was dumb, just because a player goes to another team there is no reason for this. Everyone that I have met or seen at games have been respectable, not just Colts fans.

You are abosolutely right in this article. I was ashamed to be at the playoof game against the Chargers, last year. First, we had a colt fan being belligerent and calling a couple of Charger fans "homos". It was unneccessary and uncalled for. I was sitting there hoping that guy would be evicted. Then, at half time, a girl from New Hampshire got booed for wearing a Patriot jersey. She had nothing to do with the game. I was appalled at this. I applaud her for smiling and shrugging the boos off. GO COLTS!!!!!!

I have been to only 3 NFL games in my life - and the last one was last yr to Atlanta to see Indy play. We were fortunate to be surrounded by a LOT of Indy fans :o) - but... there was a group of Atl fans that were really becoming rude towards us. Thankfully it did not escalate, but it was getting VERY close to doing so. I was ready to get an usher :( What bothered me as much as anything was the foul mouthed guys that were so vulgar when there were young girls (mine!) and boys there. When one of our guys went down and wasn't moving one guy went crazy cheering about it said he hoped he didn't get up! In light of what had just happened to Kevin Everett it really ticked off a lot of people and we let him know! There are good and bad fans everywhere and at every sporting event - I'm just happy to see the NFL stepping up and making this a priority!

Once Janell and were in the nosebleed and there was a very drunk guy right behind us. WE sort of hoped he would fall off his seat. He wasn't sooo bad, though. The language wasn't really bad he just wouldn't shut up.

I have never seen any Colts fan act like that when I have went to a game at the Dome. I get loud and cheer them on but don't act like that.

I'm glad the NFL is cracking down on behavior in the stadiums, but Kat and I witnessed a bad episode at the R.C.A. Dome. Security and the City Cops came up and got this guy just for standing up and cheering!! We didn't see he did anything wrong, but there had to be more! Generally the Colts Fans are as Good as GOLD!! Nicest and most Fun Fans I've ever been around! But there are some in every crowd!! I like the crack down because of the children at the games, nothing worse than taking your kids and having some foul fans around them!! I almost got in a fight there back in the 80's when we (Colts) were not very good and there were all kind of seats open. One of my daughters was with me and 3 bad actors were sitting directly behind us. I had to get up turn around and confront them, I was scared but I had to do something! Everyother word was M.F. this M.F. that, my daughter at the time was around 10 or 11 years old, she didn't need to hear all of that! So after I confronted them and told them there are all kinds of seats open, why didn't they just move! They did, and I went "whew"! I don't remember why we just didn't move, LOL. Stubborn I guess. But that was a bad scene with my daughter you know. Nice Blog Kenny
