1. DEFENSE!!!
I'm going to go out on a limb here and claim that this is the best defense the Indianapolis Colts has ever had to start a season. The addition of Coach Coyer and the rookies has paid huge dividends. We've been getting key turnovers and sacks in every game recently. I'm excited to see that trend continue on Sunday. Every week it seems like we get a new hero or hero's and can't wait to see who is going to be "The Man" this week.
2. Establish The Run
I think we are going to need to run a bit more then last week. I'm not one of those Addai bashers and I think he has played solid all year. I want us to keep riding that horse. The key to the passing game runs through the running game. If we can keep the Texans guessing whether we are going to run or pass will lead to big plays down the field. If Brown is back that will be great. If he's not, we need to get Simpson and/or Hart some touches just to keep that running game going.
3. Coaching
Coach Caldwell has been awesome!!! I'm glad he was "The Next Man Up" in the head coaching department. I expect this game to be close like the 49ers game. If that's the case it may come down to coaching decisions. When do we go for it on fourth down? When do we throw the challenge flag? When do we use our timeouts? All of those questions can be critical in winning or losing. I think Coach will be cool under pressure and make the right choices.
4. Shut That Roof!!!
I said it last week and I'll say it again. It is to our advantage to have that roof shut. Besides the extra noise it generates it can cost us if the roof is open. Last week Silva lost one in the sun and it could have been a turnover. Garcon lost a ball in the sun which ended up being three points instead of a possible seven. August, September, and maybe even October are fine for open roof games. It's the second game of November so let's seal that baby until the next preseason and use it to our advantage.
