There will be no question to any visitor that Lucas Oil Stadium is the home of the Colts! The stadium is tastefully personalized as it meticulously blends football and racing themes.
From the outside the stadium looks finished, but there are many details yet to be finished, including those on the retractable roof and the exterior enclosure. The Goal posts are installed and turf installation continues. Testing is also continuing on the scoreboards and the ribbon boards -which are awesome, by the way! Crews are nearing completion of the installation of the fixed seating, east telescopic seating, and the disabled seating platforms.
As installation is wrapping up on signage, plumbing, fire protection, carpeting, tiles, and many more systems, other crews are repairing equipment damaged by the broken storm piping. The projected completion for the stadium is August 2008.
Lucas Oil Stadium, like our team, exhibits class and character. Colts fans get ready for the ultimate fan experience!

What May in Indy means to me..

May is a busy month for me, I do my regular job (Corporate Travel Agent Groups/Meetings) and also cover the racing events at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for a local paper. I get to sit in on press conferences, be in the garages, go to events such as the Fastest Rookie Luncheon, and the announcement at the Allison mansion the other evening. It keeps me busy, and I am behind on here, but will get caught up soon, I promise.
I grew up in Indy, and as a teenager hung out at the track every May. My grandfather was a "yellow shirt" there. Those are the guys that direct traffic, tell you where to park, check ID's etc. He loved his job there, so proud to be working at such a great facility. May 18, 1985 started out just like any other Saturday, I was at the track..in the suites on the outside of the front stretch- great view, you could see the majority of the infield at that time. I could see the infield hospital area, and noticed the life-flight helicopter departing several times in the late afternoon. It wasn't until hours later, when I got home I found out my grandfather was one of those airlifted out. He died at the track that day. He was sitting in his chair, and motioned for a co-worker to come to him. By the time the co-worker got to him, he was slumped over in his chair from a heart attack. I know he received the best care available, because of where he was.
Every time I go to that track, I feel a part of my grandfather with me, being at a place he loved. I have heard everyone has a story about the track, and what it means to them. These stories will be part of the 100 year celebration they have planned over the next few years. That's my story.. I get goose bumps every time I go there, and wouldn't trade those for anything.

Lets make up a Blog story...

Hello, I don't have an exciting story for a blog, I am going to count on all of you for that! It will be called Fortunately/Unfortunately. Whatever the person before you started their story with, you have to do the opposite. For instance.. first person writes Fortunately the Colts won the Superbowl year before last. Next person has to start their story with Unfortunately.. so they could write Unfortunately we didn't win this year. Then next person could say Fortunately the Giants won!! Back and forth like that.. got it? Ok get creative, be funny! Add another line whenever you want. First person gets to start it however they want........ just start with either fortunately or unfortunately.
