This is a great question and one that is very difficult to answer. As a humble Colts fan, I never go into a weekend thinking " OH wev'e got this one!".

Look at the Dolphin Game, the Niner game? Any game can be difficult and close.

The Texans will be a challenge for sure, but don't forget the following weekend we face our nemesis, the Patriots!! BOOOO

Our games with them have been consistently close ( probably cause of all the cheating and changing of rules for Brady boy).

The Ravens showed some power against the undefeated , now  1 loss, Broncos.

They too have given us trouble in the past.

If you look at our roster now, we have at least 4 tough games ( again any could go south).

Texans

Patriots

Broncos

Ravens

All these teams have been holding their own.

If I have to answer your intended question and pick one..well as hard as it is, I will have to pick the Patriots for the biggest fight... I just don't think they will be the only close game.....not by a long shot.....

Did I answer it ? LOL

GO BLUE!!!!!

I believe we look no further than the very next game as the next nail-biter.  The Texans are a much improved team since the start of the season.  Matt Schaub is a very good QB, which I saw first hand when I attended their game in Cincinnati a couple of weeks ago.  He was very accurate and utilized his WR's, TE and backs in the passing game, so there's no one or two guys to key on in their offense.

Although Andre Johnson is the main threat of the receiving corps, tight end Owen Daniels has emerged as one of Schaub's primary targets.  Then, you have the running and receiving threat of Steve Slaton in the backfield.  I know Slaton was benched after fumbling early in the game against Buffalo yesterday, but he'll be back in the line-up against the Colts, I'm sure.  And, that benching allowed Ryan Moats to get a chance to play, and boy did he play!!   He had 23 carries for 126 yards and 3 TD's, plus 2 catches for 25 yards.

So, the Colts defense will have to be prepared to stop the run and the pass in this one, as Houston has developed a very balanced offense.

On the defensive side, the Texans have a potent pass rush, so protecting Peyton will be a priority.  Their linebackers and defensive backfield are adequate, so a lot of their defensive success is a result of putting pressure on the quarterback.

I expect the Colts to win at home in this one, but it will be another close one, as most of our division games are each year.

the way the texans are playing, it seems like that will be our next nail biter. Although I think the Texans have very little chance beating us here and the way we played the last game, we will definately come out hotter this time.

to sum it up- Its gonna be a nail biter but still a Colts win. Short and sweet

I need that ball but good luck to all contestants

I think the closest upcoming game for the Colts will be VS. the Texans. The Texans have improved every year and they always play the Colts tough. It took a miracle to beat them last year in a game that they (the Texans) should have won. They have beat the Colts on last second field goals and play with a lot of heart and determination when they face the Colts.

This year with the Titans and Jags not playing so well, it looks like the Texans are the next best team in the division. As is always the case the final score often does not reflect how hard fought the game was. The Colts beat the 49ers with Peyton throwing for over 300 yards but who would have guessed the final score would be a single digit win!

As the saying goes "Any given Sunday". I do not care if the Colts go undefeated in the regular season. I want the Colts to step it up in the Post season and win EVERY game and the Super Bowl. Super Bowl XLI was a great end  for a good Colts team, let's see if they can win another Super Bowl. Go Colts!

The final game (when we are undefeated and going for the perfect season) will be a nail bitter. We are going to have to worry about how long Manning plays, if we can get some of our third stringers time, etc.

The big nail biter will be can we complete the regular season sweep and not lose in the super bowl like the Patriots two years ago...what losers!

The "next nail-biter "game you ask? I think we have the Houston Texans doing the two step with us over the next 3 games or so as our official next nail-biting games. I already have personally did oral  pedicures and manicures  here for everyone in my family (including the dogs) because of me runing out of nails to bite over last night's game and the Jaguars game  we first played.

They say everything is bigger in Texas and I think I have to agree.  These Texans have finally became big on our radar after 8 years in the league. The Texans can run and pass and defend very well. As an earlier poster said, I believe this will be the most complete team we will play this year on our schedule during the regular season.  I actually x'ed this upcoming game and the next one in Texas on my schedule, as gut check games for the Colts. In the past, Manning has always "manhandled" that state in the PANHANDLE, but this is a better team.

Music I left my two exe's in Texas,Music  as the team for the Colts to beat within our division this year. Both of these Texas games will be cuticle- biting close even more so than the Patriots game. So.. get ready to bite your nails and fill your home with half crescent cuticles  when we battle those Houston "we may have a problem with them"  Texans!

Wow, very tough question, and a great one as well. Well, there's a ton of games that are possible nail-biters.

Texans at Colts

Pats at Colts

Colts at Ravens

Colts at Texans

Jets at Colts

Broncos at Colts

I believe even this one is a nail-biter, considering this team has been up and down, and we play them in January at a very cold, possibly snowy place

Colts at Bills

I'll go with the biggest nail-biter, between  either Colts at Ravens, or Colts at Texans, and I'll take the Ravens game. The Ravens looked good yesterday against the Broncos, and they always play us tough, I guess with the exception of last year. The other thing is that we play them in Baltimore, and that's a very hostel place to play in, especially for us Colts, considering the fact they absolutely hate us. I believe we still come out on top, but it will be a great game. I believe all the games I mentioned will be great games, and will be nail-biters, but I think this one the most.

Well let me start by saying that i think every game is a nail biter....But as far as which one of our next games is going to be a nail biter i truely think that it will be our ARCH ENEMY !!!...The New England Patriots.  Living here in Texas and  being at most of the Colts @ Texans games since thier return to the NFL, i know how hard of an opponent the Texans have been to the Colts. But i think fate is on our side this time on this match-up due to the recent injury to Olen Daniels, and the nagging injury of Andre Johnson, These are two of the biggest play makers that the Texans have and without them it will make our chances alot greater. I think the patriots are cocky...i think they are greedy ....and i trurely think they need to lose to shut them up !!!, But with that being said they are very competitive and are stacked with talent. I will never say or have ever said that the Colts are going to lose !!!!.... And with the schedule we have it's a real good possiblity that we can go  UNDEFEATED !!!!!!!!... But as far as me chomping on some nails.... come game time on monday night when we're face to face with The Only Team That We All Together Love To Hate you'll find me glued to the edge of my seat, crouched down, starring non-stop at the T.V. Chewing My Nails From Start To End Of Like Most Of Them....A Very Close Game !!!!

coltsfan5638 replied on 11/02/09 06:11 PM

I believe the next nail biter is the Colts and patroits this is a rivary to who tide it and Brady is back and I think this is going to be the nailb iters of all nail biters because of peyton and Brady

colts1819 replied on 11/02/09 06:24 PM

I think anytime you play a division team it is going to be tough, but as far as being close, that's not always the case. The Texans have emerged this year as the other team in our division to beat.  Even so I think you still have to consider how close games with the Patriots have always been, even the AFC title game that sent us to the Super Bowl.  So if I have to choose the nail-biter then I will have to go with our division to try to keep us from sweeping the whole division. Too bad for them they are in our division. Texans will be our closest game. We will however be victorious. GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PROUD TO BE COLTS1819

What? Me worry?

With Freeney and Sanders back and playing, Peyton being Peyton and now with Addai learning to be, "like Manning, LOL"  there is really not a nailbiter in any of the games left. Die hard fans will tell you that. The Colts do bend but don't break. Witness the Dolphins game, they don't need to hold the ball for along time to win.Not a nailbiter in the bunch that I can see.

If you see one, get your eyes checked.

VaCOLTSFan replied on 11/02/09 07:38 PM

I do not think there will be any "nail-biters" :-)...only varying levels of frustration ! Our team has shown that they can put away any of the teams remaining on their schedule: sometimes easily...and sometimes not so easily.

The team I am currently the least worried by is the Titans. Of course that could change if they suddenly go on a tear, being sparked by the change to Vince Young as the starter. Even so, our guys can take care of that bit of business.

As for the others: Baltimore, New England, Houston, and the rest...we have beaten when both teams are playing well; we have beaten them when we struggled, and only managed a late game rally. I have seen enough of these late game rallies to keep my nails intact...the only problem I may have is some indigestion after a loss which will only last until I wake up the next morning to strat looking ahead to the next week's game.    That is the way our team plays...so can we as loyal fans do anything less ?

I know we are going to the playoffs (playoffs!?!? :-) my concern is in finally being able to deal with that boogeyman I call San Diego, who has vexed us the way the Patriots did for so many years. That spectre was finally banished to the scrapheap of history....and so to shall the Chargers at some point!!!

Go COLTS ! :-)

I have no nails left as of yesterday.  So, I will have to try and let them grow out by Sunday.  I think the Texans will give us a run in our own stadium come Sunday.  Both divsion games.  And of course they are playing OUR Colts...who doesn't want to beat us?  I see a hard fought tough game.  Hopefully everyone will be healthy and ready to play their "A" game.  We, are going to need It.

Peyton will have one of the best games of the Season on Sunday!!  Houston watch out!!
