USAF 1981-1992 stationed Wright Patterson AFB, OH (2750th CES): Galena AS, AK (5072 ABG): Tinker AFB. OK (3rd MOB, EID). Done a little TDY traveling but mostly state side. The most interesting places I traveled to were Lajes Field - Azores and Keflavik, Iceland (Desert Storm kicked off while I was in Iceland, so my trip was cut short. Didn't go to the Gulf just went back to OK.) My worst TDY was to Shemya, AK. if you know where this is at or you Google this place you will understand why. I was power production through my full stint. I worked on mobile and installed Generators, Air craft arresting Barriers and Uninterrupted Power systems. I separated from the Air Force in '92 during the RIF, took the money and ran. So when 2001 came around I sort of kicked myself but all in all I think I did the right thing.

I personally have not served in the military. But my father was in the Navy during the Vietam war. So my mom would call me a Navy Baby. But since then I have had 2 children who are both in the military. My oldest Drew (airman2012) is in the air force. He was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and then he went to Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. But even though Scott is his home base he is currently deployed to Balad Iraq. In the Air Force he serves in the capacity of the Securiy Forces. My youngest James is in the Navy. He was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Station in Illinois and he is now stationed at Damnek in Virginia. He will be graduating from training in January and then will be heading to his permnant duty station. Very proud of my military boys.
